Run the SFC and DISM Scans
System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) scan and replace corrupted Windows system files.
- Type
cmdin the Windows search bar. - Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
- Type
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealthand press Enter. - Wait for the process to complete (this may take several minutes).
- Type
sfc /scannowand press Enter. - Restart your computer after the scan finishes.
Force NGEN to Regenerate Optimization Queues
You can manually force the tool to drain its queue and fix stuck optimization tasks.
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator (as shown in the step above).
- Type
cd C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319and press Enter. (Note: If you use a 32-bit system, remove the "64" from "Framework64"). - Type
ngen.exe executeQueuedItemsand press Enter. - Wait for the process to finish, then close the window.
Install Pending Windows Updates
Microsoft frequently pushes bug fixes for the .NET Framework through standard Windows updates.
- Press Windows Key + I to open Settings.
- Click on Update & Security (or Windows Update on Windows 11).
- Click Check for updates.
- Download and install all available updates, including optional .NET Framework updates.
- Restart your PC.
